Hello, I am Davood Zarekoohi. I experienced theater and acting since elementary school by actively participating in my school’s theater group. When I was a 16-year-old teenager, I became more interested in art and went to the school of art and literature of radio and television and started learning the art of acting with professors such as Reza Fayazi and Mojtaba Kazemi. It was from there that I became interested in children’s and youth theater. In 1997, I got my first directing experience with the show “We Have Everything”. In 1998, I entered the Faculty of Art and Architecture and studied theater. In the same year, I staged my second play titled “Forest School”. From that time I realized that I should produce shows for children. So I continued. In 2013, I started studying for a master’s degree. At the same time, I met Dr. Shirin Bozorgmehr, and based on her suggestion and encouragement, I began to work in the field of theater education and taught my classes for children of different ages in the intellectual development center for children and adolescents and the educational centers of the cultural and artistic organization. I held the Tehran Municipality. In those years when I was a younger coach, I realized the importance and impact of teaching life skills to children from elementary ages and I realized that drama can play an important role in this direction, but unfortunately I could not implement my thoughts and ideas. For this reason, and very soon, I established a private and specialized performing arts school for children and teenagers with personal funds. In 2017, I received initial permits and a basic agreement from the Ministry of Culture and Guidance. In 2018, “Tavanesh Acting School” was opened. In the same year, I registered and launched the “Tavanesh Performing Arts Institute” for the production and performance of children’s and adolescent shows, and thus the “Tavanesh Theater Center” was formed as a center for achieving my dreams. After two years and in the summer of 2020, when the Corona pandemic was raging and group activities, such as theater, were very dull, Tavanesh acting school was upgraded to the first quality level and permanent credit and received more attention from the audience and artists. So far, I have staged more than thirty professional shows for children from minors to teenagers as a writer, actor, director, designer and producer. “Tavansh” has also become a big family where many students have studied performing arts and have been able to follow and achieve their dreams in the field of acting. In the meantime, the sublime art of theater has made them more valuable and useful to the society. My wife (Narges Asghari) and I, who, like me, is active in children’s and youth theater, and all my works are formed and formed with her, we think it is our mission to inform the future generation with a powerful tool such as theater. Soon the children will take over the affairs of the society instead of us.
